Private Ghazals event enchants city folk at Bazm-e-Ghazal Evening

Lucknow: The soulful strains of poetry and music came alive this evening at Parul’s Gramophone during the latest edition of Bazm-e-Ghazal, a musical baithak held at 6:30 pm. The gathering featured renditions of rare, private ghazals—poetic gems that are not commercially recorded or easily available—offering an intimate and exclusive experience for lovers of the form.

Renowned ghazal singer Sarbjeet Singh mesmerized the audience with heartfelt interpretations of ghazals penned by celebrated poets such as Javed Akhtar, Krishna Bihari Noor, Majaz Lakhnawi, and Ahmed Faraz, along with evocative compositions by Lucknow’s own Chandra Shekhar Verma.

Accompaniment on the harmonium was provided by Sudhir Kumar, while Vineet David handled the tabla, together creating a rich musical tapestry that echoed the spirit of traditional mehfils.

The event was attended by a host of distinguished music and poetry enthusiasts from the city, including Dr. Seema Singh, Neelam Yadav, Chandra Shekhar Verma, Ragini Verma, Monalisa Chaudhary, Anita Dwivedi, Pallavi Amit, Vipul, Bipin Bajpai, Abha Singh, Preeti Sachdev, Anita ji, Sangeeta Jaiswal, Preeti, Ratna, Archana, Reena, and Manjula Tripathi, among others.

Evenings like these reaffirm the city’s rich literary and musical heritage, fostering a direct and meaningful connection between artists and listeners. Organizers expressed hope that such intimate musical baithaks will continue to thrive across Lucknow.
